Emily Martin
NWF Director of Conservation Partnerships
Emily Martin is the National Wildlife Federation’s Director of Conservation Partnerships for Alaska, California, and Hawai‘i. She enjoys having the opportunity to elevate Hawaiian conservation issues to the national stage in the hopes of passing policies and directing funding toward protecting native wildlife.
Emily was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota, where she enjoyed growing up swimming in lakes during the summer and playing ice hockey in the winter. She saw the impact of climate change as year after year the skating season shortened due to increasing temperatures. This motivated her to attend the School of Environmental Studies and later move to Olympia, Washington to pursue a degree in environmental studies.
Prior to joining NWF, Emily spent 10 years working as the Federal Climate Policy Manager at a youth-led climate justice nonprofit. Their mission is to get young people involved in passing bold, equitable, and science-based climate policies.
Emily is now based in Seattle, Washington, where she enjoys baking, painting, and birding in her spare time.
